The film is headlined by actor Suriya in the titular role and directed by Selvaraghavan. The film revolves around Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, a do-gooder and organic farmer who gets drawn into the world of corruption and malpractices and has to fight against all the odds to create the positive change he wants. Written and directed by Selvaraghavan, the film also stars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh as the female leads. The film also features a cast comprising of actors Devaraj, Ponvannan, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Rajkumar in supporting roles. NGK was backed by SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures and had music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

NGK marked the first time Suriya collaborated with Selvaraghavan. The film received mixed responses upon its release. The film became the first Tamil film to be released in South Korea. It is also available for streaming on Prime Video. The film was shot by cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan and Praveen KL edited it. The action drama runs for two hours and 27 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the latest, Suriya will begin shooting for his upcoming film Suriya 44 with Karthik Subbaraj from June. He is also awaiting the release of Kanguva with director Siruthai Siva. On the other hand, Selvaraghavan last directed the 2022 film Naane Varuvean.
