The upcoming Malayalam film Bh Bha Ba, starring actor Dileep, has been the point of discussion for multiple reasons. Actor-directors Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Sidharth Bharathan are also part of the cast. The film will feature Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in an extended cameo. L2 Empuraan is the sequel to the 2019 hit film Lucifer, another multi-starrer from Malayalam. So for the 2025 sequel, director Prithviraj Sukumaran brought in a bigger star cast that included even Hollywood names, including Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn. Mohanlal is once again back as Ab’raam/Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj was also back by his side as the trusted Zayed. Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Andrea Tivadar, Eriq Ebouaney, and Abhimanyu Singh round up the other names in the cast. The political landscape in Kerala is in focus, while the film also depicts the attempts to track down Ab’raam.
Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan lead this film, as two youths who head to Madras, seeking to make it big in cinema. Their journey in the film world and their bond are depicted in this movie, helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, who also appears as a cab driver. Kalyani Priyadarshan, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph and Neeraj Madhav are also part of the cast. But it is the cameo of Nivin Pauly that stole the thunder and became a meme favourite.
2018: Everyone is a Hero depicted in the massive Kerala floods which ravaged the state. The film, which narrated true events and the heroic efforts of the ordinary people, was led by an ensemble cast with the likes of actor Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, and Asif Ali, along with Narain, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, and Lal in other key roles. Jude Anthany Joseph directed this film, which was also selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars.
Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim and Dulquer Salmaan starred as three close cousins who move to Bangalore. Their life in the metro city as they navigate the complexities of family, marital life and bond with one another is beautifully portrayed in this fun film. Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Isha Talwar are also part of this film, which tops several favourite film lists.
This 2008 film truly showed the might of Mollywood as it featured Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi along with almost all of the top stars of that period. Director Joshiy helmed this film, which follows the events after a former Supreme Court judge’s grandson is accused of murdering a medical college student. Jayaram, Dileep, Indrajith Sukumaran, Bhavana, and Kavya Madhavan are also part of the film with Nayanthara making a special appearance in a song.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith, and Jayasurya came together as three friends, who do odd jobs in Kochi, but dream of going to Pattaya one day. Their misadventures are the focus of the film, which remains fun for the most part before the dramatic climax. Namitha Pramod plays the female lead in the film.
