8 Vasantalu is the latest Telugu release, which has become a talking point all over. Directed by Phanindra Narisetti, the film has won a good name for its performances, but a few controversies have marred the romantic drama. The makers held a press interaction in Hyderabad, and the makers, along with the director, skipped the event.
This was quite surprising as the young team was left to face the wrath of the media. Firstly, the cinematographer created headlines as he openly stated that the audience would love the film even more on OTT and revealed that 8 Vasantalu would soon stream on Netflix. This left everyone in shock as a team member of a film openly admitted on stage that his film would look better on OTT, even when the film is playing in theaters.
Then, a senior journalist blatantly questioned the ethics of the director, who showcased a fight sequence in the film where a Hindu priest and Muslim men try to rape the heroine in a holy place like Kashi. There is a scene in the second half when the heroine lands in Kashi to submerge the ashes of her Guru and ends up with a priest and a few Muslim men who try to rape her in a slaughterhouse.
This scene was objected to by a few in the film, but now that the senior journalist openly questioned the makers, the young team was clueless and did not have a word to answer. 8 Vasantalu was produced by the makers of Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers, and the way they have disowned the film along with the director has not gone well with many.
Ananthika Sanilkumar played the female lead in this film, which is about a girl who faces heartbreak twice in her life. Though the songs and dialogues were good, the slow narration made the film go down in no time. The young cameraman has let down the team by talking about the OTT release of the film, creating a bad name for the team.
