Kuberaa is one of the biggest hits of 2025 and is in the news all over. Sekhar Kammula directed this film, with Dhanush and Nagarjuna in the lead roles. Dhanush played the role of a beggar, and his performance is being lauded by the audience a lot. But news about Dhanush's casting has suddenly made headlines all over.

As per the internal talk in the Tollywood film circles, Sekhar Kammula wanted Vijay Deverakonda to play the lead role. Going into details, Sekhar had first approached Vijay Deverakonda to play the main lead, but the young actor stated that he wouldn't suit the role of a beggar and asked Kammula to look for someone else. Vijay is a terrific actor and has proved himself with Arjun Reddy.
So, ever since the news is slowly going viral, a new discussion has kicked off as to how Vijay would have pulled off the beggar's role. But all those who watched the film say that Dhanush gave a solid performance and lived in his role. Even the likes of Chiranjeevi also mentioned the same and stated that no one apart from Dhanush could have pulled off the beggar's role.
Vijay Deverakonda has never done such raw roles to date, but one also needs to understand what the director Sekhar saw in Vijay that he approached him initially. Though the confirmation about who the first choice for the lead role was will never get confirmed by the makers, this news about Vijay being offered the film initially has gone viral.

Nagarjuna Akkineni also played a key role in the film, and his performance is also being lauded big time. Rashmika Mandanna played the female lead in this film, which was produced by Sunil Narang. Kuberaa has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark already and is seeing decent occupancy on the weekdays as well.
