8 Vasantalu locks OTT partner: Where to watch Ananthika Sanilkumar's romantic drama

8 Vasantalu is a new-age romantic drama directed by Phanindra Narisetti. Released on June 20, 2025, the film has opened to mixed reviews across the board. Ananthika Sanilkumar plays the female lead in this film, which has now locked its OTT platform.

As per the latest update, Netflix has acquired the OTT rights to the film for a fancy price and is likely to stream it within a month of its release. 8 Vasantalu has been produced by the makers of Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers, and they have ended up in a safe zone, thanks to the OTT deal.

All those who have watched the film are in awe of Ananthika, who plays Shuddhi Ayodhya in the romantic drama. According to sources from the unit, 8 Vasantalu will be out on Netflix in the second week of July 2025. 

Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music, and his songs are trending online. 8 Vasantalu is about the journey of Shuddhi Ayodhya from the age of 17 to 24. She falls in love twice but faces heartbreak. How she copes with such tense times in her life and finally finds the love of her life is the basic story of the film.

Ananthika Sanilkumar wins praise for 8 Vasantalu

8 Vasantalu has a great first half and a terrific performance by Ananthika, but all that is spoiled in the second half by a rushed narrative. Also, the pace of the film is quite slow, which suits OTT viewing perfectly. We need to see how the film fares when it lands on OTT.

Director Phanindra Narisetti took a dig at the media for calling his last film, Manu, slow and routine. He has levelled up a bit with 8 Vasantalu but still falls short.
