Uppu Kappurambu is Keerthy Suresh's new film that has skipped its theatrical release and opted for a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. We at OTTplay have already reported that the film will be available for streaming from July 4, 2025. Well, ahead of the digital release, the makers released the trailer, and it looks quite funny.
Uppu Kappurambu is set in a fictional village and features Keerthy Suresh in the role of a government official. The trailer showcases the local politics in the village, and conflicts arise when the local burial ground has only space for four burials. All hell breaks loose, and a chaotic situation is created to determine who gets those four slots in the burial ground.
Each character showcased in the film looks rooted and has been given due importance. But it is Keerthy Suresh who makes all the difference with her new geeky look and innocent portrayal as a government servant caught in chaos. Uppu Kappurambu has been written and created by Vasanth Mariganti, and his story idea is unique.
The trailer is packed with fun moments and has scope for a lot of comedy. Suhas is once again seen in a native role, and his track with Keerthy Suresh looks fresh and entertaining. Talluri Rameshwari, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Ravi Teja, Vishnu OI, Duvvasi Mohan, Sivannarayana, and Prabhavathi Varma also play key roles in this satirical comedy, which has been produced by Ellanar Films.
By the looks of it, the makers have made a wise decision to release the film on OTT, as such native subjects are surely not meant for the big screen. For Suhas, this is a big film, as he has never worked with a star heroine to date in his career. Though the trailer has a few over-the-top moments, the backdrop and presentation are fun.
