80s Buildup release date: HERE's when Santhanam's comic caper will hit screens

It's official. The team of Santhanam's upcoming film, 80s Buildup, has announced the film's release date. The film, which is billed as a comic caper, is directed by S Kalyaan of Gulaebaghavali and Jackpot fame. 80s Buildup will drop in theatres worldwide on November 24.

Santhanam drops a brand new poster
With 80s Buildup, Santhanam will be seen in full-fledged comedy after experimenting with different kinds of roles. Taking to his social media handle, Santhanam dropped a brand new poster, in which he is seen dressed in 80s fashion and having a gala time. He resembles one of the characters played by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in the era.

Santhanam captioned it, "Get ready for the much-anticipated #80sbuildup in theaters on Nov 24th. It's a delightful treat filled with pure laughter for all moviegoers. Come, experience the riot of laughter in theaters. For all the Ulaganayagan and Rajini sir fans - it will be a fun ride (sic)."

The actor began the year on a high with the horror comedy DD Returns, but his next outing Kick turned out to be a dud at the box office. So, a lot is riding on 80s Buildup.

What's 80s Builup about?
The first look features Santhanam as a newlywed groom, who is excited about his wedding photo shoot. However, the problem starts when the photographer asks his wife to smile better and broader. Santhanam is entrusted with the responsibility and he resorts to threats. His gesture leaves everyone surprised.

The cast and crew of 80s Buildup
Radhika Preethi plays the leading lady, while the supporting cast comprises Motta Rajendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, Redin Kingsley, Anandraj, Munishkanth, KS Ravikumar and Tiger Thangadurai. While Ghibran has scored the music, cinematography is by Jacob Rathinaraj. MS Bharathi is incharge of the editing and AR Mohan will take care of the art direction. Ravi and Hari Dinesh will handle the action choreography. The film is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and the digital rights have already been bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
