Aadujeevitham, directed by Blessy and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has been in production for five years now. Based on the novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, the film was shot in challenging locations such as Algeria and Jordan during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, director Blessy discussed the film's release and expressed his happiness at the anticipation surrounding it.
Blessy said that it is not the right time to discuss any details regarding Aadujeevitham. "Updates about the film will be provided before its release. The film's post-production is still in progress; hence, a release date has not been confirmed yet," Blessy told Jango Space.
Aadujeevitham's delayed release
According to the Times of India, Prithviraj had discussed premiering Aadujeevitham at a film festival and submitting it by the end of March 2023. Blessy told OTTplay that the team was hoping to premiere the film at the Venice Film Festival in September, but that did not happen. According to reports, the film's VFX work is still not complete.
Aadujeevitham trailer promises a commercial potboiler
Prithviraj had mentioned earlier that Adujeevitham is not an art film and has all the necessary elements to make it a commercial potboiler. A trailer for the film was leaked recently , in which the actor looks unrecognisable. He plays the protagonist, Najeeb, a servant of an Arab man who is trapped in a desert.
Numerous renowned Malayalam novels have been adapted into films, but most of them have been art films. This includes novels such as Mathilukal, Vidheyan, and Balyakalasakhi, which were authored by writers like Vaikom Mohammed Basheer and MT Vasudevan Nair. However, the trailer for Aadujeevitham shows that it is a commercial film.
Interesting trivia about Aadujeevitham
Music director AR Rahman composed the tracks for the film by visiting the sets in Jordan during the shooting of the film. Amala Paul plays the female lead in Aadujeevitham, which also has several international actors as part of the star cast.
