It’s been a long wait for the makers of Indrajith Sukumaran and Ashwin Kkumar’s Aaha for it to hit theatres. Now, ahead of its November 19 release, the team has released its trailer, which promises an entertaining and heart-warming tale of family, brotherhood and emotions – all through the sport of tug of war.
The trailer predominantly focuses on the present era of Indrajith’s character, who is living alone and has abandoned his love for sports, probably after the demise of his wife. In between, you see a bunch of youngsters led by Amith Chakalakkal’s character come up with the idea of forming a tug-of-war team that leads to discussions of an earlier glorious team from the same place.
This prompts them to approach Indrajith’s character, who finally decides to coach them. Through the sport, he relives his past – the ups and downs. Amid the training montages in the trailer, the audience also get to see a glimpse of characters played by Manoj K Jayan, Santhy Balachandran and the antagonist essayed by Ashwin Kkumar in both his young and old avatars.
Aaha, which is based on the champion tug-of-war team of Aaha Neeloor, will mark the directorial debut of editor Bibin Paul Samuel. The film’s music is by Sayanora Philip.
The film is slated to hit theatres across the State on November 19, exactly a week after Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup, which also has Indrajith in a pivotal role as a DYSP Krishnadas.
