Aamir Khan has returned to the set of Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, after spending a year trying to come up with the right story to launch his next. Aamir Khan is shooting this film, based on the concept of his 2007 smash hit, Taare Zameen Par, in Mumbai from beginning to end.
Aamir has been reporting for the 7 a.m. shoot daily, a source close to the production informed Mid-Day. Every day, the crew has been filming in a new location, while the Country Club served as the venue of yesterday's shoot. The ensemble will join later this month, and the shooting will continue until the end of April.
The movie Sitaare Zameen Par is a remake of the 2018 Spanish smash hit Campeones, in which a basketball coach is compelled to work with a squad of mentally challenged players as part of his community service term. Aamir has landed the movie, despite Farhan Akhtar's initial casting as the protagonist. In the drama, the actor will co-star with Genelia D'Souza.
Earlier at an event, while talking about Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir stated that it is a film in which he is both starring and also producing it. With Taare Zameen Par as their theme, they are jumping ahead ten paces. This movie will have viewers in fits of laughter, while the other one made people cry. In Taare Zameen Par, Aamir aided Darsheel Safary's character; however, in this film, he shall receive assistance from nine individuals, each dealing with their own unique challenges.
Moreover, the superstar, who hasn't been in an acting role since Laal Singh Chaddha came out in 2022, claimed to be preoccupied with his production projects at the moment.
Meanwhile, Aamir is preparing for the release of Laapata Ladies, a film directed by Kiran Rao and produced by his home banner. The film is set to hit the big screen on March 1, 2024.
