Taare Zameen Par is one of Aamir Khan's most successful movies. The 2007 film starred Darsheel Safary, Tiscar Chopra, and Aamir in pivotal roles. Recently, Tisca went down memory lane and recalled some fond memories of working with Khan in the film. While speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Tisca recalled a funny anecdote where Aamir suggested selling 'tissue papers' along with TZP's ticket to double the revenue.
For the uninitiated, Aamir Khan's film Taare Zameen Par left a deep impact on the audience. The film was about a young boy, played by Darsheel, who suffers from dyslexia. It is also about his emotional bond with his mother. TZP left everyone teary-eyed.
Recalling the day Aamir called her, Tisca revealed, "One day Aamir called me and said that we should have sold tissue papers along with the film's tickets so that we could have made double the money. Even Karan Johar was teary-eyed after watching the film."
Sharing her experience of working with Aamir, Tisca mentioned that she went to the 'Aamir Khan School of Filmmaking' while working on Taare Zameen Par. The actress said that her co-star was very meticulous, even though it was his first time directing a movie. "He would involve us in blocking, shot division, choosing lenses, etc," she added.
Since Tisca is also meticulous when it comes to work, the actress revealed that she ended up irritating Aamir by asking him for retakes of her shots and saying that she could do it better. The actress recalled how her co-star worked hard on every part of the film to the extent that it couldn't get any better.
Almost 17 years down the line, Aamir is now working on a film called Sitaare Zameen Par. As per media reports, the film is expected to shed light on Down Syndrome. However, the makers haven't confirmed the same yet. The film is expected to be released in theatres sometime this year.
