Aamir Khan in Coolie: Will Sitaare Zameen Par actor's cameo get a sequel like Rolex? Here is what we know

The cat is out of the bag, and so is it confirmed that Aamir Khan is indeed playing a cameo role in the upcoming Tamil film Coolie. The Sitaare Zameen Par, who is working with Rajinikanth after several years, had also talked about working in the film. But it looks like the Hindi actor’s cameo is reserved for the climax, much like Suriya’s Rolex appearance in Vikram. Does this mean one can expect a powerful face-off between the two superstars? Here is what we know.

Aamir Khan cameo role in Coolie:

Aamir Khan has himself confirmed that he will be appearing in Rajinikanth’s film directed by Lokesh Kanagarakj, Coolie. Although the Hindi actor’s appearance is expected to last only 15 minutes in the film and will be towards the climax, going by Lokesh's thematic working, it looks like audience are waiting for a power-packed role, much like what Suriya got to do as Rolex in Vikram.

But this also gets us thinking that while Rolex role paved way for a sequel and continuation of the story, will Aamir Khan’s last-minute appearance too give way for Coolie sequel. Although the makers have not confirmed any such developments, Aamir and Rajinikanth are expected to have a face-off in Coolie climax, and Lokesh wouldn’t want to waste a star like Aamir Khan for a mere 15-minute role with no payback. One has to wait and watch the film to know the answers. But for now, it is almost confirmed that Aamir will do a film with Lokesh, which is touted to be a superhero subject, based on Irumbu Kai Mayavi comics.

Coolie update:

The first single Chikitu was released by the makers recently, and has been trending on social media. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, T Rajendharr has performed in the song.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Coolie also features Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj and others, with Pooja Hegde making a song appearance. The film will release in theatres on August 14 for Independence Day weekend. Sun Pictures is producing the film.
