Nagarjuna is expecting two big releases this year. His immediate release is Kuberaa, co-starring Dhanush and is set to release on June 20 in theatres, while the latter is the much-awaited Coolie headlined by Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. In a recent interview, Nagarajuna speaks about working with both Dhanush and Rajinikanth and draws parallels and differences in the way each star works on sets.
With Kuberaa release around the corner and Coolie all set to take over screens in a couple of months, Nagarjuna is set to star in both the films and play a prominent character. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Nagarjuna spoke about working with Dhanush and Rajinikanth and how the Tamil actors are very similar and yet have different working styles.
“Both of them are generally quiet on sets, other than in between when the pleasantries happen. Once the shoot goes on, they are on their own...I think they are processing the scene completely. Dhanush goes and sits in one corner and he does not chat much with anybody. But when you chat, he is very good. He is very much into the character,” Nagarjuna said.
Meanwhile, speaking about Rajinikanth, the Telugu actor said that he would joke around and talk, except for action sequences, while shooting. “During the action sequences, he goes into the zone.”
While Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, will release on June 20 in theatres, Coolie is gearing up for August 14 release. The first film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
Meanwhile, Coolie is a star-studded affair with Sathyaraj, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan and others. The action drama is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music for the film.
