Loveyapa, starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, revolves around a couple who want to get married. Their Gen Z love story takes an unexpected turn when the bride's father challenges the pair to swap their phones for 24 hours. The film was released in theaters on February 7 and has been underperforming at the box office. Amid this, Junaid's father, Aamir Khan, reacted to the film's box office failure and also admitted to feeling more stressed about the film's reception than Junaid himself.
Speaking to ABP News, Aamir Khan reacted to Loveyapa's box office failure and added that success and failure are part of the film industry, and it’s important to stay positive even when things don’t go as expected.
Aamir admitted that he was anxious about his son's film's release. He said, "As a father, I was ten times more stressed about my son's film. Two weeks before its release, I kept wondering, ‘Why am I so stressed about the film? It isn’t my film—I haven’t acted in it, produced it, or directed it.’ But still, I was anxious."

Praising Loveyapa and Junaid's performance, Aamir shared that this was the emotion of a father.
"I don’t know how to explain it. Junaid will grow and learn," he said. Meanwhile, Aamir confirmed that he’s currently working on a romantic film with Junaid and it is likely to be released later this year in November or December.
In an interview with SCREEN, Junaid Khan revealed that he was skeptical about playing the lead role in Loveyapa as his personality differs greatly from his character's. If it was up to him, he wouldn't have cast himself as the lead in the film.
Junaid said, “I was a bit surprised that they wanted me because I felt like my personality was so far away from the character. I asked him if he was sure he wanted me to play the role. I wouldn’t be casting me in this part, but Advait (Chandan) and Madhu (Mantena) sir seemed pretty confident."
After the theatrical run ends, the romantic comedy, Loveyapa, is expected to stream on JioHotstar.
