After a couple of postponements, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha is finally gearing up for a theatrical release on August 11. The film, which is the official remake of Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, has been directed by Advait Chandran. The movie marks the return of Aamir to the silver screen after a four-year hiatus.

He was last seen in Vijay Krishna Acharya's Thugs of Hindostan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2018. Laal Singh Chaddha brings Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan together after Talaash which was released a decade ago.

The trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha which was released a month ago was lauded by movie buffs and they can't wait to know how the Indian version of the Tom Hanks-starrer has shaped up. With Aamir playing the titular role, film lovers have pinned high hopes on the project, and are curious about the changes made in the remake version.

Its story revolves around the evolution of an average child to emerging as a highly successful man. The story spans five decades of the protagonist, his sudden emotional issues and will showcase various crucial events related to Indian culture and myriad picturesque locations.

The interesting track between Laal Singh Chaddha and Karmajit Kaur (played by Kareena) is said to be one of the highlights of the movie; theirs is a relationship which began from childhood and continues even in their 50s. The USP of the film is the determination of its protagonist.

How Laal Singh, who grows up in a small town of Punjab, goes on to become an inspiring achiever because of his hard work and dedication, is regarded as the major plot of the movie. Bankrolled by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao and Viacom18 Studios, the film stars Mona Singh and Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya as well.
