Aap Jaisa Koi is all set to land on Netflix on July 11. The romantic drama explores themes of compatibility, equality and different perspectives in romantic relationships.

Aap Jaisa Koi is a story of Srirenu, a reserved Sanskrit teacher, and Madhu, an enthusiastic French instructor. Their relationship faces societal expectations and opposition from family members. The story explores issues such as compatibility, interpersonal equality, and differing worldviews in romantic relationships. The story is based on the theme of love and equality between two different people.

The trailer of Aap Jaisa Koi focuses on a soft, slow-burning love where understanding and mutual respect are important rather than grand gestures. The film highlights the complexities of a relationship where one partner comes from a more traditional background and the other is more independent, and their journey towards finding "barbari wala pyar" (love based on equality).

Talking about the story, Jehan Handa, one of the writers of Aap Jaisa Koi, said that in the last few decades, women have grown up not wanting to be their mothers, while men have grown up hoping to find their mothers in their partners.

"Modern relationships require a fair bit of unlearning. We knew we had to address that in our storytelling. In a dialogue in the trailer, Madhavan’s character almost apologetically asks her to dial down her personality. He is a soft guy who has been conditioned," she said.

The film stars R Madhavan as Srirenu and Fatima Sana Shaikh as Madhu. Directed by Vivek Soni, Aap Jaisa Koi also features Sachin Kavetham, Manish Chaudhari, Manish Chaudhari, and others. 

The story is written by Radhika Anand and Jehan Handa and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharma Productions.
