The first song from Aap Jaisa Koi has arrived, and its mission is simple: to present the lead couple and highlight the simple warmth of their first encounter. Today, the ballad Mila Tujhe was unveiled, featuring R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. As the track's sparse acoustic pattern is gradually filled out with strings, composer Justin Prabhakaran constructs it, while lyricist Raj Shekhar trades rhymes with vocalists Vishal Mishra and Prateeksha Srivastava.

Falling in love, one scene at a time

The song features Madhavan and Fatima slowly and gradually falling in love after getting in an arranged match. They adopt a traditional approach, falling in love through activities such as going to movies, going on coffee dates, and taking walks in the garden. The song plays in the backdrop while the duo gets closer to each other and ultimately decides to spend their lives together.

Introducing the film's heartbeat

The song also serves as an introduction to the film. Vivek Soni's Aap Jaisa Koi will have its global premiere on Netflix on July 11, 2025. The plot revolves around the clash of two drastically different worldviews, exemplified by the characters played by Madhavan (the subdued traditionalist Sanskrit teacher Shrirenu) and Shaikh (the fiery modernist Madhu). This week's trailer teased a hopeful take on late-blooming love, as well as generational pushback and household strife.

Meanwhile, Madhavan refuted rumours of computerised face-lifting during the trailer event. The actor returned to an older fitness regimen—gating meals and upping cardio—to fit the film's narrative, which flashes back to his character's early thirties. He told reporters they didn't have the budget for de-ageing software. The revelation complements the film's commitment to reality and, as a byproduct, has brought even more attention to the project's humble production values.

Justin Prabhakaran's expanding horizons

Composer Justin Prabhakaran has been scoring films in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam for the past ten years, and with Mila Tujhe, he continues his gradual transition into Hindi-language cinema. Following his work on the romantic music for Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021) and the anthology short Thangam in Netflix's Paava Kadhaigal (2020), Prabhakaran transitioned to Hindi. The presence of his trademark clean guitar lines, subdued percussion, and catchy lyrics gives the impression that the remainder of the soundtrack will follow suit.

Raj Shekhar, a lyricist, has been working indirectly with Madhavan since his debut in Tanu Weds Manu (2011). As with much of Shekhar's work, Mila Tujhe relies on everyday language to depict first-sight infatuation without resorting to cliché, reflecting his preference for plain-spoken Hindi over elaborate metaphors.
