After Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, Mohanlal will be next seen in Aaraattu, directed by B Unnikrishnan. The film is getting ready for its release. However, the latest update from the makers of the action flick is a disappointing one.
The makers of the movie have announced that the official trailer, which was supposed to be released on January 1, 2022, has been rescheduled. In a post shared by Mohanlal on his social media platforms, it says a new date for the trailer release will be revealed at a later time.
Mohanlal’s loyal fanbase has been waiting for the release of the trailer. A teaser for the movie was released earlier, which saw the actor in a mass action avatar, amping up the excitement of the fans.
Apart from Mohanlal, the movie also features Shraddha Srinath, Ramachandra Raju, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Prabhakar, Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Indrans, Malavika Menon, Swasika, and Rachana Narayanankutty in the supporting cast.
Directed by B Unnikrishnan, Aaraattu is scripted by Pulimurugan’s writer Udayakrishna. Backed by the MPM group and RD Illuminations, the movie is made on a budget of over Rs 30 crore and is slated to hit theatres in February 2022.
Vijay Ulaganath and Shameer Muhammed are the cinematographer and editor respectively and have music composed by Rahul Raj.
Aaraattu will see Mohanlal play a real estate tycoon named Neyyattinkara Gopan. There is yet no update regarding any possibility for a delay in the film’s release as well.
Meanwhile, the last project of the director was Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel, starring Dileep. This is the fifth project of the actor-director combo that was last seen in Villain, which received fairly positive reviews. Mohanlal was last seen in Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea, which became the star’s first post COVID-19 theatrical release. The movie has received mixed reactions from the fans and is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
