That Kartik Aaryan is a part of Aashiqui 3, and the makers are currently probably zeroing in on a leading lady for him amid a pool of rumours, is something we all know by now. Over the past few weeks, we have heard a whole lot of speculations about the movie, with the wildest of them saying the movie has undergone a title change and will now be called 'Tu Aashiqui Hai'.

What is even wilder about this rumour is the claim that the threequel will be a remake of the cult classic movie Baseraa. This led to an uproar and a legal notice was sent to T-Series by the late producer Ramesh Behl’s family. The production house has replied to this.

T-Series Issues Statement:

For the uninitiated, Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series is the production house that is backing the Kartik Aaryan-starrer Aashiqui 3. The company has broken its silence on the claims that their film will be a remake of Baseraa. The studio has revealed that these rumours are false and baseless and that the movie is not a remake of the yesteryear classic. Additionally, the statement stated that they would be responding to the notice that the late producer Ramesh Behl's family had sent to them.

A spokesperson for T-Series, in a statement denying Aashiqui 3 being a Baseraa remake, said, “We would like to clarify that we are not making a remake of the Baseraa movie; these are rumours, baseless and false news. We will also be replying to the notice received. The focus of T-Series remains on delivering quality music and entertainment to our audience, and we have no plans to deviate from that mission.”

About The Row:

Fans of the classic movie and many others were not happy about the news that Aashiqui 3 is a remake of Baseraa. The family of the late Ramesh Behl, who passed away in 1990, made it clear in their notice that T-Series cannot use anything from and about their movie in their production without the permission of the Behls. They claimed that the rights to the film were still with them.

Baseraa, which was released in 1981, was a much-loved movie. It starred Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee, Poonam Dhillon, and Rekha in pivotal parts. As for Aashiqui 3, the movie is in a very early stage of development, and so far we have heard names like Triptii Dimri and Tara Sutaria in the mix to play the leading lady opposite Kartik Aaryan.
