Bobby Deol is on a high after the success of the third season of his web series Aashram, which dropped on MX Player last week. On the same day, the Prakash Jha-directed series hit the platform, the makers also released a teaser from its season 4.
While it was obvious that the successful show will have another season especially with season 3 ending in a cliffhanger, Bobby Deol, who plays its lead character Baba Nirala, wasn’t of the opinion that the show must have more instalments just to cash in on its popularity.
In an interview to Bollywoodlife ahead of the show’s release, the actor said though he definitely wants Aashram to have more seasons, he doesn’t want it to be forced. “It all depends on how the script moves, you can’t force a story,” he said. Its director Prakash seconded this, saying that the show has to evolve organically.
Based on the teaser of season 4, the makers have enough and more ways take the story of the megalomaniac God man forward. The teaser, which was released on Friday, shows Baba Nirali, who returns to the aashram, declaring himself as being above the law of the land as he’s “a God” and daring the police to arrest him. We also get to see Chandan Roy Sanyal’s Bhopa Singh threatening Aaditi Pohankar’s character of Pammi, who is seen getting dressed up as a bride.
This brings a twist to the events that had transpired in season 3 that saw Pammi trying to seek vengeance from Baba Nirala for what he has done to her family. While the makers are yet to announce the release date for the fourth season, it’s widely believed that the instalment could drop on the streaming platform quicker than Season 3, which was delayed due to the pandemic. Season 4 is expected to premiere on 2023.
