Expectations are high for both the film industry and moviegoers as a result of the Malayalam releases that took place in the first three months of this year. Although there were some hits in January, February turned out to be a very fortunate and crucial month for the industry.

A number of films, including Anweshippin Kandethum by Tovino Thomas, Bramayugam by Mammootty, Girish AD’s Premalu and Manjummel Boys by Soubin Shahir, broke box office records and attracted large crowds to theatres, altering the industry's doldrums.

In addition to Kerala, these films were a hit in other states, particularly Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
