According to news agency ANI, Anuj Thapan allegedly tried to commit suicide in custody. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. Minutes later, the accused was declared dead by the doctors in the hospital. Mumbai Police have confirmed the news. More details are awaited.

Thapan was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch last week in Punjab, India. He was accused of being involved in procurement of guns for the two people who shot at Khan’s house on April 14.

While the death of the accused in Salman Khan’s case is being investigated, a fresh report believes that gangster Goldy Brar – who threatened to kill Salman in the past, is dead too. Yes, you read it right! As per news outlet News18, the infamous gangster was shot dead at a hotel in California by Brar’s rival Dalla Lakhbir gang. However, official confirmation on this report is awaited.

Brar was also the prime accused in famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s assassination case.

Meanwhile, let us recall that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde convened with the superstar and his family on April 16. The Chief Minister met them just after the firing incident and assured Salman Khan of increased security. The Minister ordered the Mumbai Police Commissioner to enforce strict security measures. The government released pictures and videos of the meeting, in which Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan thanked Shinde for his support and good wishes. Presently, Salman Khan is given Y-plus security by the government.
