Actor Dilip Tahil arrested for drunk driving case

Baazigar and Ishq fame actor Dalip Tahil was reportedly arrested on Saturday night after he allegedly hurt a woman while drunk driving. Dalip has been charged with driving while intoxicated and causing injury under the Motor Vehicles Act and the Indian Penal Code, respectively.

According to the reports, Dalip Tahil has been given a two-month prison sentence after being found guilty in a case that dates back to 2018. The actor is said to have been found guilty of drunk driving after hitting an autorickshaw with his car. 

According to a Times Of India article, Tahil was found guilty in the case by a magistrate court in the city based on testimony from a doctor who claimed that after the incident in 2018, the actor had an alcohol-like odor on him. Not only that, but Tahil's "style of walking was unsteady" and the doctor's thorough report noted that he also had dilated pupils and blurred speech. The actor has not yet responded to the situation.

Dilip Tahil is best known for his work in films like Baazigar, Raja, Chhota Chetan, Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, and Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak among others. Dalip Tahil made his TV debut with Buniyaad in 1986 and went on to feature in shows like Miss India and Siya Ke Ram. He was last seen in Vidyut Jammwal's IB71.
