Debutant filmmaker A Vinoth Kumar's Laththi, starring Vishal in the lead, has hit the headlines a few times for wrong reasons. The actor met with injury more than a couple of times during the film's shooting. He underwent treatment in Kerala after the first injury.
A few days ago, he again suffered an injury while shooting for a fight sequence for his intro scene in the movie, and the video has been going viral on social media. Peter Hein has been at the helm of action choreography for the project which is almost complete.
A couple of months ago, the makers had announced that Laththi will be released in theatres in Tamil and Telugu on August 12. Though a few had expressed concerns over the movie arriving in theatres on the announced date because of the back-to-back injuries Vishal faced, we hear that there won't be any change in plans with regard to its release date.
The makers have now revealed a few tidbits about the star's character in the movie. Though it was a known fact that Vishal is playing a police constable in Laththi, there weren't many details available about his role.
We now hear that the actor is playing a father to a seven-year-old boy and Sunainaa who plays the female lead in the movie will be seen essaying his wife's role. Laththi is the first movie which has Vishal playing a father. How he protects his son after he is attacked by a few goons forms the major plot of the film.
Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has composed music for several films of Vishal including his last outing Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, is the composer for Laththi while Balasubramaniem has handled cinematography. Sagar Prabhu, Thalaivasal Vijay and Munishkanth essay important characters in the project which has been edited by NB Srikanth.
