Mammootty’s big-budget thriller, helmed by B Unnikrishnan, will have a host of leading actresses in pivotal roles. While we had earlier reported that Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sneha and Amala Paul were roped in as leads for the big budget film, now actress Aditi Ravi has also joined the team in a supporting role.

The actress, who was last seen in Mohanlal’s 12th Man and Indrajith Sukumaran-Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Pathaam Valavu, joined the team a few days ago along with Aishwarya Lekshmi. Both actresses will be sharing screen space with Mammootty for the first time in their careers with the movie, which is scripted by Pulimurugan and Aarattu fame Udaykrishna.

The film, which has Mammootty essaying the role of a cop, will wrap up its Kerala schedule this month. From September onwards, the team will be filming in other states. Amala Paul is expected to join the team by the third week of September.

Incidentally, Unnikrishnan and Udaykrishna had first pitched the script of the thriller to Mohanlal during the pandemic. As the travel restrictions were in place and shooting in other States was challenging, the trio had then decided to work on Aaraattu instead, right after the first lockdown was eased. Udaykrishna had also scripted Mohanlal and Vysakh’s Monster, which is set for a pooja release in theatres and is expected to clash with Mammootty’s thriller Rorschach, which is helmed by Kettyolaanu Ente Maalakha director Nissam Basheer.

Mammootty, meanwhile, has completed his portions for this schedule and is set to begin work on director Ranjith’s segment Kadugannawa Oru Yatra from the upcoming Netflix anthology, which is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories. The 50-minute feature, which is based on MT’s memoir from a trip to Sri Lanka, will be shot in the island country as well as Ottapalam from August 16 onwards.
