After charming audiences with the Naslen-starrer Alappuzha Gymkhana, Khalid Rahman is all set to return to the director’s chair. The young Malayalam filmmaker, who had a run-in with the law recently, has announced his next project on social media.

Khalid Rahman, the popular Malayalam director, last helmed Alappuzha Gymkhana, which released in theatres on April 10, 2025, and witnessed stellar success. Now, Khalid Rahman has announced his project on social media. Khalid, who has helmed movies such as Love and Unda, posted an Instagram story that said ‘A Film by Khalid Rahman’ produced by B Rakesh. The post also featured Anirudh Ravichander's The Plan is ON track. No other information on the cast or crew was shared online, but he also assured viewers that more updates are coming soon. Though there is no information on the genre of the upcoming film, the audiences would be expecting another vibrant film from Khalid Rahman.

Khalid Rahman’s Alappuzha Gymkhana is streaming on SonyLiv via OTTplay Premium. Naslen plays the lead role in this fun film, which tracks a bunch of plus-two students as they decide to compete in an amateur boxing competition, confident that it would get them college admissions.
Naslen appears as the de facto leader Jojo Johnson, while Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S Poduval, and Sandeep Pradeep are also appear in other key roles. Franco Francis, Baby Jean and Anagha Ravi also join this film, which promises a breezy watch.

Khalid Rahman made his directorial debut with Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, which starred Biju Menon and Asif Ali, along with Asha Sharath and Rajisha Vijayan. His next film Unda was led by Mammootty and followed a bunch of Kerala cops on duty in a Naxal-hit area. Before Alappuzha Gymkhana, he helmed the Tovino Thomas-starrer Thallumaala, which was a hit among the younger audiences.
On the other hand, Khalid Rahman was nabbed by the police for reportedly possessing hybrid ganja. The director has maintained a low public profile since then.
