After Bhoomi, Lakshman to direct Raghava Lawrence for Lyca Productions?

Director Lakshman, who is known for films like Bogan (streaming on Zee5, YouTube and Sun NXT) and Romeo Juliet (streaming on MX Player and Zee5), last directed Bhoomi, which had a direct-to-release on Disney+ Hotstar a year ago. The film, however, opened to discouraging reviews from critics and the audience.

We now hear that he is now all set to join hands with Raghava Lawrence for an untitled project which will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Talking to OTTplay, Lakshman confirmed that the project is on and that it is too early to talk about it. He said, "We will begin the movie in three month's time. Unlike Bhoomi, it will have a theatrical release. An official announcement will be made soon."  

Lawrence's next outing will be Rudhran, which was earlier announced as a theatrical release in April. Producer Kathiresan makes his directorial debut with the movie which has Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the female lead. The project was last in the news when the makers did a remix version of the popular song Paadatha Paattellam Pada Vanthal from Veera Thirumagan .

With a slew of big ticket movies from different languages releasing in April, it has to be seen if makers of Rudhran will stick to its already announced release date.

Recently, Lawrence had announced that another project in which he will be seen playing the lead, Durga, will have popular stunt choreographers Anbariv at the helm. The twin action choreographers are making their debut with the project which will have Lawrence essaying multiple roles.

The actor-choreographer-filmmaker was last seen in Kanchana 3 (streaming on MX Player and Zee5) and his previous directorial venture was Bollywood flick Laxmii Bomb (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar).
