Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar took all by surprise after unfolding their first project together since the Dostana 2 fallout. They had announced Naagzilla, with a scheduled release date. Kartik Aaryan shares first picture before Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri goes on floors

Kartik had posted a photo from his flight to Europe to announce that he is indeed commencing the shoot for his next collaboration with Karan Johar. "Here we go (a Korean emoji heart) Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri," the Silvat actor shared as the caption to the Instagram story. The movie is now on floors, but more details about it are under the wraps. Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, like the title suggests, is a romantic-comedy (a genre that Kartik excels at, given his Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise). The movie, directed by Kartik's Satya Prem Ki Katha director Sameer Vidwans (also directed Anandi Gopal), is scheduled to release around Valentine's Day (February 13, 2026).

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar's previously announced film Naagzilla, is their first collaboration since Dostana 2 fallout. The film, helmed by Fukrey director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, is also bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. It is scheduled to release on Naag Panchami aka August 14, 2026.

Dostana 2 fallout and an update on the movie

Karan Johar-Kartik Aaryan's Dostana 2 fallout happened once things did not work out with the actor. Reportedly, the producer was left fuming and the two were not on good terms for the longest time. They then came together for Naagzilla and made a joint announcement, post which Dostana 2 was also revived. Current news is that Dostana 2 would feature Love Hostel actor Vikrant Massey and Kill star Lakshya Kapoor in the lead roles. The female lead, once Janhvi Kapoor got out of the film, is yet to be confirmed.
