Earlier this year, Shahid Kapoor made his foray into OTT with Raj & DK's crime-comedy series Farzi. The Prime Video series earned the actor critical acclaim for his portrayal of the disillusioned artist Sunny, and he quickly backed it up with another strong turn in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bloody Daddy. Meanwhile, Shahid finished filming Dinesh Vijan's untitled robot-rom-com starring Kriti Sanon, which is scheduled for release in theatres this December. The actor has been waiting almost five months since the end of the main shoot on the Maddock Films production to begin his next film adventure.

Rosshan Andrews' thriller drama

As per reports in Pinkvilla, filming on the next thriller drama from Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews will begin in the second week of October. The production of the detective thriller, which has been in the planning stages for quite some time, will begin next month, with a goal of finishing by December and putting it out in theatres by mid-2024. Since last year, Shahid has been dedicated to making this film, but the script's evolution has slowed production. At long last, the actor has been able to arrange his dates, beginning in the middle of October. The entertainment portal also reported that the filmmaker and his crew have resumed pre-production and are raring to go again.

The film by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zed Studios follows a young, reckless police officer as he investigates a high-profile case and discovers a labyrinth of deceit and betrayal. Pooja Hegde has been cast opposite Shahid, and the rest of the main cast will likely be set in the following weeks. This movie, which Bobby-Sanjay and Hussain Dalal wrote, marks Rosshan Andrrews' Hindi directorial debut. He is best known for the movies Notebook (2006), Mumbai Police (2013), and Salute (2022).

Upcoming projects:

Shahid will next be seen in Dinesh Vijan's untitled robot-romcom with co-star Kriti Sanon. Directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah tell what has been called "an impossible love story" in this film. On December 7, 2023, it will debut in theatres. Talks between the actor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a mass action movie are rumoured to be in the early stages.
