Ikkis has been facing several release date issues ever since it was announced. It was first postponed from its initial October 2025 slot to November 7, 2025, to avoid box office clashes. Then it was scheduled for December 25, 2025, but now, as per a report, Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra's Ikkis has again been postponed and will be released next year.

Ikkis new release date

Ikkis has been officially postponed, and it will be released on January 1, 2026. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that Dinesh Vijan has done it for the third time, and it has been postponed because Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has been creating history at the box office. Apart from that, Avatar: Fire and Ash will have a theatrical release on 19th December, 2025. With the new release date, Ikkis also managed to avoid the box office clash with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which will be released on December 25, 2025.

About Ikkis

Ikkis is a biographical war film based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan.

The film chronicles the extraordinary life and sacrifice of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This story follows Khetarpal's journey from his career at the National Defence Academy to the front lines of the Basantar War. At just 21 years old and after serving in the 17th Poona Horse Regiment for just six months, he was withdrawn from a training course to join the war.

During intense tank battles, Khetarpal single-handedly destroyed several enemy Patton tanks with his sole Centurion Mk 7 tank. Despite being seriously wounded and ordered to abandon his tank, he refused, continuing to fight until he was martyred. His unparalleled courage and determination, which destroyed seven Pakistani tanks, earned him India's highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra, posthumously.

The narrative also incorporates emotional depth through Khetarpal's family background, where his father (played by Dharmendra) inspires him with stories of valour, and a brief romantic subplot.

Ikkis also marks Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda's theatrical debut. He made his acting debut with the Netflix film The Archies. On the other hand, Ikkis marks the last film of the late actor Dharmendra. Meanwhile, apart from Agastya and Dharmendra, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, Deepak Dobriyal, and others.
