Agent Kannayiram: Here's when the Santhanam-starrer crime thriller will hit the screens

Santhanam, who was last seen in Gulu Gulu (streaming on Sun NXT) earlier this year, is ready with his next outing. Agent Kannayiram, directed by Manoj Beedha, will hit the screens on November 25. The makers have made the official announcement now.

The team had unveiled the theme music of the movie recently along with a still from it. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the project which is billed as a crime thriller. Agent Kannayiram is the official remake of Tollywood hit film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2019.

Naveen Polishetty and Shruti Sharma played lead roles in the Telugu version. Riya Suman plays the female lead in the Tamil remake which has cinematography by Theni Eswar and Saravanan Ramasamy. Stunner Sam has handled action choreography while Rajesh has composed dance moves for the film.  

Ramesh Marabu has penned the screenplay for Agent Kannayiram along with director Manoj. Pugazh, Munishkanth and Redin Kingsley among others essay pivotal characters in the project which has Santhanam playing the role of a private detective.

Its story revolves around the detective taking up a petty case without knowing that his findings would lead to serious implications. How he deals with a notorious gang who indulges in a dreaded scam with dead bodies from a village forms the rest of its plot. Agent Kannayiram is the sophomore project of Manoj after Vanjagar Ulagam. Santhanam, on the other hand, has Prashant Raj's Kick coming up soon.      

The last two outings of the actor, Sabhaapathy and Gulu Gulu, were slightly different from his earlier films in terms of the dosage of comedy in it. It looks like he is gradually attempting to make a shift from his comfort zone. Agent Kannayiram is said to have a few action episodes. Movie buffs are waiting to know if Santhanam has some surprises in store for them.
