Agent: Makers announce release plans, Akhil Akkineni's action thriller to be released around THIS festival

Fans of Akhil Akkineni have pinned high hopes on Surender Reddy's high-octane action flick Agent. They believe it's the movie which has the potential to take Akhil to the next league in terms of stardom. The teaser of the project which was unveiled a few months ago offered a glimpse into the film's plot.

The makers have now come up with an announcement regarding its release plans. The movie will hit the screens around Sankranthi festival, thus joining a few other projects which have already announced their arrival. However, the exact release date of Agent is not yet revealed.

Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy and Prabhas' Adipurush are movies that are expected to attract the most number of movie halls in Telugu states. The Telugu version of Vijay's Varisu, titled Vaarasudu, is also likely to acquire a decent number of theatres for the festival.

Movie buffs have mixed reactions about five films eyeing the biggest season of Tollywood. They are almost sure that every film will eat into each other's business. Meanwhile, there is news doing the rounds that one or two among the five projects might back off sooner or later.

Agent, which has its story written by Vakkantham Vamsi, features Mammootty in a crucial role. The Mollywood Megastar's presence is more than enough for his fans in Kerala to wait for the movie. Rasool Ellore and Naveen Nooli are in charge of cinematography and editing respectively for the project.

Hip Hop Tamizha is the music director of the project; this is his second collaboration with filmmaker Surender after Ram Charan-starrer Dhruva which was released in 2016.
