While ARMY has come to terms with this, it's clear that the Grammys are missing out on a significant opportunity for viewership, given BTS's massive fan following.

For ARMY, it was disheartening but not surprising to see BTS snubbed from the list of nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards. Despite each member achieving record-breaking releases in 2023, the South Korean group has often been overlooked by the 'white industry'. Notably, even achieving success with their song 'Take Two' as a group also having records to its name, the 7 men were absent from the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
BTS currently shares the third-most nominations in its history. Over the past years, BTS has received nods in this category, starting with their hit "Dynamite" in 2021, followed by "Butter" in 2022, and "My Universe" with Coldplay in 2023. The streak ended with the 2024 ceremony.

While ARMY has come to terms with this, it's clear that the Grammys are missing out on a significant opportunity for viewership, given BTS's massive fan following. Let's take a moment to revisit all the memorable performances the group has delivered at the award show.
In 2019, although they did not perform, the septet got heads turning as they presented an award. H.E.R. won the 'Best R&B Album,' a category presented by BTS at the 61st Grammys.
Their second appearance was in 2020 when they made a cameo during Lil Nas X's performance of 'Old Town Road (Remix).' They took the stage to join in for a verse of the hit song.
The seven men performed their hit 'Dynamite' from Seoul, South Korea, on a rooftop in 2021 - due to COVID-19. This was also their first-ever nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. They became the first K-pop act ever to receive a Grammy nod.
BTS brought both fun and seriously elaborate dance moves to their 'spy-themed' performance of their song 'Butter.' Interestingly, the performance almost faced cancellation due to both Jungkook and J-Hope testing positive for COVID-19, but fortunately, they managed to recover. The English-language chart-topping single was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
While the group was nominated for two Grammys, receiving nods for their 'Yet to Come' music video as well as for Pop Duo/Group Performance for 'My Universe,' their collaboration with Coldplay, they were not present to perform. This absence was due to the group embarking on an indefinite hiatus to fulfil mandatory military enlistment requirements and simultaneously focus on solo career commitments.
BTS is currently on hiatus as all the members have enlisted in the military service, which is mandatory for all men in South Korea. Despite their releases during this period, none of the seven singers earned solo Grammy nominations this year, disappointing ARMY.

In 2024, the eldest members Jin and J-Hope are set to be released from their military duties, sparking excitement among the ARMY for more solo albums and content. The group has promised a reunion in 2025 around their anniversary date, as all seven men have renewed contracts with BigHit Music and HYBE Labels.
