One of the most successful thriller series in recent Hindi films, Drishyam, features Ajay Devgn's return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the upcoming third installment. New reports suggest that the makers have finally finalised the film's shooting schedule, after Pinkvilla earlier reported that Devgn had sealed Drishyam 3.
Shooting for Drishyam 3 is set to commence on October 2, 2025, according to people close to the production. Starting on October 2, 2025, the makers of the last film in the Drishyam series will begin filming in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, a date that is very meaningful to the franchise. Including the studio setup, the three-month marathon schedule takes place at actual locations in Maharashtra. According to a source, Devgn has already scheduled his film dates.
Theatres are expected to welcome the film, helmed by Abhishek Pathak once again, precisely one year after that. The releasing date is Gandhi Jayanti 2026. As per the source, the makers are now honing the final draft while the script remains locked. Vijay Salgaonkar's story will be concluded in the third instalment, which will see the return of all the Drishyam family members.

It is still unclear if the plot of Drishyam 3 will follow the same path as the Malayalam original or if it will adopt a different approach. The source revealed that the makers were also working on an original draft at some point, so it's not clear if Drishyam 3 is a remake of the Malayalam film or an original script. They expect to have all the details sorted out by July end.
However, an intriguing fact is that this will be the first time both the Malayalam original and the Hindi remake will release in the same year. Mohanlal has formally announced that Drishyam 3 will go on floors in October of this year by sharing a video with director Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor.
With Total Dhamaal and Ranger now wrapped up, Devgn will begin filming Drishyam 3 after a break. Additionally, Devgn has scheduled the production of Shaitaan 2 and Golmaal 5 to commence in early 2026. The actor is reportedly in talks for many unannounced films in addition to the ones listed above, the specifics of which are still under wraps.
With the release of the Hindi version of the Malayalam film Drishyam in 2015, the series took off, and by 2022, it had become a household name with the sequel too. The makers of Drishyam 3 want to wrap up the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, a part that Devgn has been famous for, with this film.
