Ajay Devgn, Suriya congratulate each other after receiving National Award for Best Actor, drive fans crazy

Ajay Devgn and Suriya were adjudged as Best Actors at the 68th National Awards a couple of months ago. The former impressed the jury with his performance in Tanhaji while the latter bagged the honour for his portrayal of an ambitious entrepreneur in Soorarai Pottru.

Both the actors were present at Delhi yesterday to receive the prestigious awards. Ajay took to Twitter to share a picture of himself along with Suriya, leaving their fans surprised and elated. The former was dressed in a stylish suit while the latter was comfortable in an off-white shirt and veshti.

The Bollywood star shared excitement of having won the shared award along with Suriya, and said that he has immense respect for the latter's talent and movies. He tweeted, "It was fantastic to share time with my esteemed colleague & fellow best actor award winner, @Suriya_offl. Deeply respect his talent & love his movies (sic)."

In his reply, Suriya, too, came up with another picture featuring the two of them, and tweeted, "Thank you for the love and warmth sir! So nice to have shared this moment with you… Lots of respects. Waiting for Kaithi n the next Singham :) @ajaydevgn (sic)."

Interestingly, Ajay had remade Suriya's Singam as Singham in Hindi more than a decade ago. The roles essayed by both the actors, Bajirao Singham and Durai Singam, are two iconic cop roles in the history of Indian cinema. Earlier, Mani Ratnam's Aayutha Ezhuthu (Yuva in Hindi) had Suriya and Ajay playing the same characters in the Tamil and Hindi version respectively.

Suriya has Bala's Vanangaan, Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal and Siva's untitled project in his kitty. Ajay, on the other hand, is awaiting Maidaan and Bholaa.
