Demonte Colony is one of the much-raved horror flicks to have been released in Tamil in recent years. The film, helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, was released in 2015, and the director had announced a sequel to it a while ago. It was said that his co-director Venky would wield the megaphone for the second part, while he would only produce and pen story for the project.

But now, he has come up with two surprises for movie lovers and fans of the film. Ajay has revealed that he himself will be directing the sequel and that its shooting has begun in Chennai.

He has also unveiled a theme poster of the movie; its caption reads "Vengeance of the Unholy". Arulnithi, who played the lead in the first part, will be headlining the second installment as well, while Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen as the female lead in it.

The duo was seen together last year in the multi-starrer rom-com Kalathil Santhippom, which also had Jiiva and Manjima Mohan in key roles. Sam CS has been roped in to compose music for Demonte Colony 2. Film lovers are eagerly waiting to know if some of the characters from the first part would be retained in the second part.

Ajay Gnanamuthu, who made an impressive debut with Demonte Colony, last made Cobra with Vikram, which ended up as a failure at the box office. The filmmaker had announced that he might join hands again with the actor, but there hasn't been any update on the same.

Arulnithi's character dies towards the intriguing climax of Demonte Colony, and hence, fans are wondering about his inclusion in the sequel. Having said that, they can't keep quiet ever since the announcement has been made.
