The action thriller is bankrolled by Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio
Srinidhi, Ajay and Vikram
Vikram's Cobra has been in the making for quite sometime. The Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial, which has KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty playing the female lead, is bankrolled by Lalit Kumar under the banner Seven Screen Studio. A few months ago, the team had announced that they are busy with the last leg of shooting in Kolkata.
However, the makers did not wrap up the movie even after the Kolkata schedule was completed. They are currently shooting for the final schedule in Chennai which is said to go on for more than 10 days.
AR Rahman scores music for the movie which has Vikram donning multiple looks. The actor will be seen playing a genius mathematician who uses numbers in an unusual way to commit crimes as part of taking revenge against a few evil forces who made his life hell.
Cricketer Irrfan Pathan plays the antagonist in the movie which has Roshan Mathew in the role of a cop who is after the character played by Vikram. The makers had released a song and a teaser from the movie much earlier. Harish Kannan and Bhuvan Srinivasan have handled Cobra's cinematography and editing respectively.
Dhilip Subbarayan is in charge of the film's action sequences while Neelan K Shekar, Kannan Sreevasthan, Innasi Pandiyan and Bharath Krishnamachari are its co-writers. Cobra marks Ajay's third project after Demonte Colony (streaming on MX Player, Sun NXT and Jio Cinema) and Imaikkaa Nodigal (streaming on MX Player).
Vikram's upcoming film Mahaan, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has also been produced by Lalit Kumar. Despite rumours doing the rounds on the film having a direct release on Amazon Prime Video in January, the makers are tight-lipped about the same.
