Ajith's Valimai sets another impressive feat; garners 100 million streaming minutes on Zee5 in a day

After showcasing an impressive performance at the box office, Ajith-starrer Valimai seems to be ruling OTT as well. The film, which had released in theatres on February 24, not only registered record opening for day one in Ajith's career, but also went on to become the highest opening for any Tamil film during the pandemic era.

The movie has started streaming on Zee5 from March 25. The social media account of the digital platform has now announced that the action flick has garnered 100 million streaming minutes in one day, which according to them, is a record.

The other day, producer Boney Kapoor, who took to Twitter to post about the movie's digital release, also mentioned that Valimai has grossed more than 200 crores at the box office, leaving fans of the star elated. Now, the new record the movie has set on OTT has become the icing on the cake.

Actors Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya and Raj Ayyappa who played pivotal characters in the project recently came up with a video in which they narrated about their experience working for the movie and requested film lovers to watch Valimai on Zee5.

Vijay Velukutty, the editor of the film, had taken to social media to thank director Vinoth, Ajith, Boney and other technicians like Yuvan Shankar Raja and Nirav Shah who handled music direction and cinematography respectively. 

Fans of Ajith are jubilant over the Valimai team joining hands for the third time for AK 61, which is expected to begin soon. The team's first project, Nerkonda Paarvai, which released in theatres in 2019, too, is streaming on Zee5. The film was the official remake of Bollywood hit film Pink.
