Fans of Ajith Kumar, who are basking in the success of Thunivu, were confused when social media was flooded with the news of a change in plan in the star's next movie. His next project, tentatively titled AK 62, was supposed to be directed by Vignesh Shivan.

An official announcement on the same was made last year. Lyca Productions was planning to produce the film and Anirudh was roped in to compose music for it. However, it looks like there is a twist. Vignesh was said to be replaced by another filmmaker and names of Atlee and Vishnuvardhan started doing the rounds.

But the latest update is that Magizh Thirumeni has high chances to be brought on board. The filmmaker, who is known for a few projects, last made Kalaga Thalaivan with Udhayanidhi in the lead. It is heard that an official update is awaited soon.

According to sources, Vignesh Shivan will direct Ajith for the star's next film, which will be tentatively titled AK 63. Apparently, Vignesh's story is said to be a family entertainer and the star was on the look out for an action-packed movie. It has to be seen if Anirudh would still be preferred as the musician for the movie.

A few weeks ago, Arvind Swami and Santhanam were in talks for essaying crucial roles in Vignesh's film. The former was said to be almost confirmed to play the antagonist's role in the movie. Looks like they have to wait for AK 63 to go on floors.

Going by the current plans, AK 62 is expected to hit the screens as a Deepavali release. There are possibilities of the film having a box office clash with Thalapathy 67.
