Kollywood fans were in for a huge surprise when news broke out that Ajith and Lyca Productions aren't happy with Vignesh Shivan who was roped in to direct AK 62. Many speculations have been doing the rounds ever since and cinephiles are waiting for an official confirmation on the filmmaker's exit from the project.

The name of Magizh Thirumeni surfaced a few days ago with regard to helming the film, but an update from the production house is awaited. However, Vignesh seemed to have been hopeful as he still had Ajith's picture as his Twitter header. He also had #AK62 in his Twitter bio along with other films he had directed.

But the director has now removed #AK62 from the bio and replaced Ajith's picture with a photo which features a caption "never give up" as his header on Twitter page. This has led to a conclusion about his walkout from the movie. Now, all eyes are on the announcement of AK 62's new filmmaker.

The movie is said to be hitting the screens on Deepavali, despite an uncertainty on its cast and crew. Vignesh's story had Arvind Swami and Santhanam playing key roles in it. Anirudh was finalized as the music director of the project.

Movie buffs are looking forward to the film Vignesh Shivan will take up next. Though many reasons are being heard with regard to the Podaa Podi director's exit from the film, it is too early to go by them.

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, starring Nayanthara, Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, was his previous outing. The rom-com, which opened to mixed reviews, too, had music by Anirudh Ravichander.
