Bollywood adaptations of South Indian films have been commonplace lately, and the latest addition to the list is Likith Shetty starrer Sankashta Kara Ganapathi. The Kannada language romantic comedy, helmed by Arjun Kumar, will be remade in Hindi under Karwaan and Rashmi Rocket fame filmmaker Akarsh Khurana. 

The Kannada director took the news to his social media page and announced the remake. "It has been titled as Baayein Haath Ka Khel and will be produced by Sunny Khanna and Vikas Sharma," wrote in the latter part of the caption.

The 2018 movie starring Likith Shetty and Shruti, is about a cartoonist who has Alien Hand Syndrome and later loses control over his left hand. The storyline continues about how it affects his daily life and love life. The movie received critical acclaim for its portrayal of the rare subject and comedy. First-time filmmaker Arjun Kumar got wide recognition for the film alongside the lead Likith Shetty. He kept the viewers engaged with his authentic portrayal of the rare disorder.

It is reported that the team recently acquired the remake rights and they are already in the pre-production stage. Even though the lead cast is not finalised, it is rumoured that Akarsh is planning to approach popular actors for the same. More details about the cast and crew will be out shortly.

Meanwhile, the Sankashta Kara Ganapathi team is coming together for their second project ‘Family Pack’, a comedy entertainer. The project is backed by Puneeth Kumar.
