The duo’s new project will be based on National Award winner Vyasaraya’s novel, titled Hejje

Renowned Kannada filmmaker, actor and lyricist S Narayan is all set to team up with H D Kumaraswamy for a new movie, after a long 17-year hiatus. Kumaraswamy, who was the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, is also a popular producer in the Sandalwood industry.
The duo’s new project will be based on National Award winner Vyasaraya’s novel, titled Hejje. There were reports that the movie will be set in the pre-independence era. The film is said to handle a theme which is still relevant, and the team, we hear, is in search of suitable cast to play the lead roles. It is said that the film’s director and producer have already held a couple of discussions, and that they are planning to begin the shoot by next year.
The movie will also mark Kumaraswamy’s return to the film industry after four years. He has produced several films before he got busy with his political career. Under the production banner Chennambika Films, he had already collaborated with S Narayan for three films, Suryavamsa, Chandra Chakori and Galate Aliyandiru, earlier. Now, when the duo is about to join hands after close to two decades, they are as excited as the audience.
The duo’s return to the Kannada industry is expected to bring some cheer to the audience. Talking about the collaboration, S Narayan said, “He is a disciplined producer and a project made under his banner will certainly create curiosity amongst the audience.” He also added that the reading habit of Kumaraswamy will add more value to the film.
Meanwhile, S Narayan recently wrapped up the shoot of his movie titled as 5D which has Aditya and Adhiti Prabhudeva playing lead roles. It is reported that the director is about to begin the post-production works for the film.
