The 2025 Telugu fantasy action thriller film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, is the latest Telugu release on OTT. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, and has released it. Starring actor Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, Akhanda 2 is written and directed by filmmaker Boyapati Sreenu.

Akhanda 2 revolves around a scientist who is racing against time to save his country against the threat of a biological warfare. But when she is targeted by some evil forces, the scientist is shielded by a warrior who can face any force. It is a sequel to the 2021 film Akhanda, which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna in dual roles like the first film, and directed by Boyapati Sreenu.

What else do we know about Akhanda 2?

The ensemble star cast of Akhanda, includes some new faces who did not feature in the first film. Actors Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Ronson Vincent, Sangay Tsheltrim, Sarvadaman D Banerjee, Viji Chandrasekhar and Poorna appear in important roles. The technical crew includes cinematographer C Ramprasad, and edited by Tammiraju. A third part is also in the making, titled Jai Akhanda, with Nandamuri Balakrishna. Akhanda 2 released in theatres on December 12, and had opened to mixed reviews. As per Sacnilk, the film made Rs 123 crore at the box office worldwide.

What is Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next film?

Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balarkrishna is tentatively titled NBK 111 and is expected to be a period action drama. It is touted that director Gopichand Malineni will be helming the project. More details on the project are to be expected to be announced later.
