Fahadh Faasil’s new look in Akhil Sathyan’s Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum shows he’s all set for a fresh set of roles this year. After starring in a bunch of intense thrillers since the pandemic, Fahadh has signed a slew of entertainers in Malayalam.
He has begun the year with the shoot of Akhil’s movie, in which he plays a Mumbai-based youngster. The film, which resumed its second schedule last month, is a full-length realistic entertainer that revolves around a girl and a veteran woman, and how Fahadh’s character becomes the link that connects them during his journey to Kerala and Goa.
The upcoming movie, which is expected to be a theatrical release, also has Sidhique, Vineeth and Vijayaraghavan as part of the cast. The team had begun the shoot of the movie two years ago and had shot a few portions in Mumbai. The pandemic restrictions, however, put the shoot on hold, with Fahadh too becoming busy with other films that he had committed earlier.
Akhil took to his social media page recently to announce that the team has wrapped up its current schedule and also announced that Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum will be a Christmas 2022 release.
The actor’s next release will be the Tamil action-entertainer Vikram, which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Chemban Vinod Jose, Narain and Kalidas Jayaram, it will mark Fahadh’s third Tamil film after Velaikkaran and Super Deluxe.
Fahadh has also completed shooting for Sajimon Prabhakar’s Malayankunju, which is produced by his father and filmmaker Fazil. The movie, which is touted to be a survival thriller, was initially set for a theatrical release in February but was postponed due to the Omicron threat. The film is expected to release in June.
The Joji and Irul actor, meanwhile, has also signed Althaf Salim’s romcom, which will go on floors later this year. He is also set to team up with Alphonse Puthren for a film titled Paattu, which has Nayanthara as the female protagonist. Fahadh will also start work on Pushpa’s sequel later this year.
