The project, which is helmed by Nadirshah, starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jayasurya, and Indrajith Sukumaran as the titular characters Amar, Akbar and Anthony, respectively. Vishnu Unnikrishnan confirms Amar Akbar Anthony sequel
In a recent interview with Club FM, Vishnu Unnikrishnan dropped a major update on the Amar Akbar Anthony sequel. The actor-writer, who scripted the multi-starrer along with Bibin George, confirmed that a second installment is indeed on the cards. According to Vishnu Unnikrishnan, he and Bipin cracked an exciting idea that was originally developed for a standalone film.
However, after the writer duo started the scripting process, they felt that this theme perfectly fit into the world created by Amar Akbar Anthony. Later, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bipin George pitched this idea to director Nadirshah, who also felt the same about it. That is how the filmmaker and scriptwriters came together once again and decided to make a sequel to the 2015-released multi-starrer.
Prithviraj, Jayasurya, and Indrajith set to reunite?
The famous actor siblings, Prithviraj and Indrajith Sukumaran, and talented actor Jayasurya earlier shared screen space in the 2006 blockbuster film Classmates apart from Amar Akbar Anthony. The reports on the Amar Akbar Anthony sequel have undoubtedly left the Malayalam cine-goers, who have been missing some light-hearted comedies on celluloid for quite some time, highly excited.
