Ambajipeta Marriage Band is actor Suhas's latest film which has opened to good word of mouth. Here are the first weekend collections of the film.
Ambajipeta Marriage Band has become a sleeper hit at the box office. Made on a shoestring budget, the village drama posted decent numbers in its first weekend. Directed by Dhushyanth, the film stars Suhas and Shivani Nagaram in key roles. As the makers were quite confident, they aired paid premieres one day in advance and this helped the film to generate a decent buzz.
The numbers are out and Ambajipeta Marriage Band has made a total of 8.06 crore gross in its first weekend worldwide. These are decent numbers as the film did not have any popular stars in key roles. In the US too, Ambajipeta Marriage Band has grossed $150k which is huge by Suhas' standards and shows how much the film is being loved.
Suhas is making his presence felt in the industry with each passing film of his. He has now scored a hattrick of hits with Ambajipeta Marriage Band. Before this, his last two films, Color Photo and Writer Padmabhushan also ended as good hits at the box office.
How he is selecting boy-next-door roles has impressed many. When many young actors are trying to go commercial, Suhas chooses subjects that are rich in content and give scope for performance. In the Ambajipeta Marriage Band, he plays a band member who falls in love with a girl from the upper caste.
Sekhar Chandram composed hit music for this film which has been produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni. Shivani Nagaram, the Telugu girl from Hyderabad was introduced in this film and she also performed superbly in the film along with Saranya Pradeep, who is yet another show stealer in the film.
However, Ambajipeta Marriage Band will be tested as the weekdays have begun. The occupancy has gone down slightly and we need to see how much the film makes from here on. Allu Aravind's GA 2 Pictures has bankrolled this film on a low budget. Bunny Vas and Venkatesh Maha have presented this film which also has Nithin Prasanaa in a key role.
