Ranbir Kapoor's film Animal has set the cash register ringing. The movie has turned out to be a box office winner. While the film is performing exceedingly work at the BO, the movie has received some negative reactions. Amid the same, Ranbir's old interview about his choice of roles has resurfaced online.

In an old interaction with Film Companion, Ranbir mentioned that he is conscious of the parts he plays in the films.

During the conversation, Ranbir was asked if he worried about the image he was putting out there by working with Luv Ranjan on Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. The interviewer stated that the filmmaker's movies are 'steeped in misogyny'.

To this, the actor said he has not been a part of those movies. Ranbir further quipped, "But I’m quite conscious of the parts I do and that it’s not a part which is belittling society or something which I feel is unfair. I wouldn’t do it because understanding the position I’m in, I have to be conscious, I have to be aware."

Kapoor added that he has to represent certain value systems that he does intend to express. However, he clarified that the Luv Ranjan movie, Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, was not about misogyny. The aforementioned hit the silver screen in March this year. Ranbir shared screen space with Shraddha Kapoor in the film. TJMM opened to positive feedback from the critics as well as cine-goers.

Animal's box office performance

Although Animal has been called out for various reasons, the film continues to shatter box office records. As of today, the film has entered the ₹400 crore club at the worldwide box office. The domestic figures are close to ₹250 crore. Needless to say, it is emerging to be one of the highest-grossing films of this year.

On the work front for Ranbir

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir has decided to take a break from movies. In a fan interaction, the actor revealed he wants to spend more time with his daughter Raha and family members.
