Guntur Kaaram, which faced multiple shoot delays and release postponements, finally wrapped its earlier this week, much to the relief of film buffs expressing concerns about its readiness to arrive for Sankranthi 2024. Directed by Trivikram, the family entertainer brings together a host of stars including Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Jayaram, Ramya Krishna, to name a few.

Meanwhile, the team had to face the wrath of netizens when the third single - Kurchi Madathapetti - was labelled vulgar by some sections of audience and the producer stated how people were trying to ‘moral police’ the makers. Regardless of the criticism, the song is packing a punch across music platforms besides garnering nearly 10 million views on Youtube within 24 hours.

With four films scheduled for release during Sankranthi apart from Guntur Kaaram (Saindhav, Eagle, HanuMan, Naa Saami Ranga), Mahesh Babu fans were a worried lot, fearing that the biggie may not get a grand release. Shutting aside all such concerns, producer S Naga Vamsi shared they have no reason to worry, assuring it’ll have a record release and asked them to plan their celebrations well.

“Dear superfans... Meeku Malli strong ga chebutunna, Memu adhe maata meeda unnamu.. #GunturKaaram ki record release in record number of theatres lo untundhi. Release maaku odileyandi, Celebrations ye mathram thaggakunda chuskune badhyata meedi,” Naga Vamsi wrote. In an interview with a portal, he admitted the team is under immense pressure to reach audience expectations.

Leading producer Dil Raju is distributing the film in the Nizam region. HanuMan, Prasanth Varma’s mythological fantasy, is releasing on the same day, facing a few issues with theatre allocation. “It’s not possible to ask any producer to back off from the Sankranthi slot. Everyone has their calculations,” Dil Raju said, discussing the practicality of releasing five films during the festival season.
