They gifted their Juhu bungalow, Prateeksha, which has a Market value of Rs. 50.63 Crore. The property is spread over an area of 16,840 square/feet, and the official documentation was carried out on November 8, 2023.

For the unversed, In Mumbai, when a father transfers a residential property as a gift to either a daughter or son, a minimal stamp duty of Rs. 200 is levied, along with an additional 1% metro cess per deed. Apart from Prateeksha, The Bachchan family owns several bungalows in Juhu – Jalsa and Janak.
What is the meaning of Prateeksha?
Long back, Amitabh Bachchan once revealed that the name Prateeksha was given by his father, Poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan to that bungalow. Prateeksha means – “swagat sabke liye yahan par nahi kisi ke liye prateeksha. (all are welcome here, but there is no wait for anyone).” This verse was taken from one of Harivansh's poems.
