Dharmendra's last movie Ikkis is now in theatres. Amitabh Bachchan, whose grandson Agastya Nanda makes his Bollywood debut with the very movie, remembered his Sholay co-star. Big B shared an emotional tribute for the veteran superstar during the recently held KBC 17 episode. Here's everything he said...

Amitabh Bachchan's emotional tribute for Dharmendra on KBC 17

Amitabh Bachchan paid an emotional tribute to Dharmendra ahead of Ikkis' theatrical release. The megastar did so through the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 17.

Stating how Ikkis is the last precious memento Dharmendra left behind for millions of people, senior Bachchan shared, "An artist wants to practice art until the very last breath of life, and this is exactly what my friend, my family, and my idol, Mr. Dharmendra Deol, did."

"Mr. Dharam was not just a person. He was a feeling, and a feeling never lets you go. It becomes a memory, a blessing that keeps you moving forward," he added, before sharing a memory from their movie Sholay.

The cult-classic Sholay, which gave the world Jai-Veeru in the form of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, is best remembered for the ending. Recalling their days from the shooting of the movie, Big B said, "He had what I call a physical quality; he was a wrestler, a hero. In the death scene, the agony you saw on screen was real because of the way he held me so tightly that the pain became natural acting." The megastar confirmed that the shoot took place in Bangalore.

About Ikkis

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis marks Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda's big screen debut. The film is now co-incidentally also Dharmendra's last movie. Also starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Ikkis released on January 1, 2026 after originally being planned for Christmas 2025 release.
